Third generation of Intel vPro Technology along with Intel AMT 5.0 SDK launched

Yesterday, Intel released the third-generation of our Intel® VPro™ technology. Previously code-named "McCreary" - a package of hardware and software that reduces PC downtime by allowing your PC to literally think for themselves and call for IT assistance when needed.

Here are some snippets of this announcement:
TechReport "The bundle brings new features that may make life easier for not just corporate IT staff, but also folks with small and medium businesses that don't have their own system admins."

TGDaily "The new software features (combined into Intel Active Management Technology 5.0) include a "Remote Scheduled Maintenance" feature to schedule PCs for regular tune-ups, "Access Monitor" to log IT activity on systems as well as "Remote PC Assist Technology" that connects those businesses with service providers that can assist when an end-user enters a key sequence."

Some of the key new features include: Fast call for help, Remote alerting, Secure Audit Log support, Network Access Protection (NAP) support, and Wireless Configuration.

We also published Intel AMT 5.0 SDK on the Manageability Developer Community for Independent Software Vendors and manageability/security software developers to take advantage of all the new features of third generation vPro technology in your application.

The technology was introduced at an innovative "virtual launch". The virtual experience consists of a virtual auditorium, a virtual tradeshow floor and the press center. You can still watch some good presentations and videos in the virtual event. You can also read the Intel press release
